The second Grand Slam tournament of the year will kick off next week in Paris when the top 128 players in both men and women circuits will fight for clay supremacy and a prize of over 1 million euros!
In the gentlemen competition Rafael Nadal remains the top favourite after winning 5 of the last 6 editions of the French Open, with odds of around 2.00. However, Novak Djokovic’s impressive run (the Serb is unbeaten in 2011!) have lifted him on the second place in the favourites list, with odds for victory of 2.50. Roger Federer and Andy Murray are the next favourites on the bookies lists’ with odds of over 20.00 – worth taken a long shot here?
In the ladies competition the odds indicate there is no clear favourite, with few players sharing the top of the list:
Victoria Azarenka – 6.00
Caroline Wozniacki – 6.00
Samantha Stosur – 8.00
Maria Sharapova – 9.00
Vera Zvonareva -10.00
Or maybe we will see a nice surprise from Svetlana Kuznetsova, priced at 55.00 to win the French Open?
